I think those drivers might work if I could only get the scanner to be detected and added to the system.Note that Wine is not a fully stable application.
I've downloaded the ScanPotter2 driver, and the VueScan driver, and both of them display a message that there is no scanner found/attached to the computer, when in fact it is. It still does not appear on the list in Add Printer or Scanner window. I've tried rebooting the Mac after attaching the scanner and powering up. In fact, I tested the same cable to attach the scanner to a PC with Windows 10, and the Control Panel detected the scanner, and I checked that the scanner works fine. The scanner's green status OK light is on nice and steady. I have double checked that my USB cable is not defective, and power and cables are all attached properly - USB-2 cable is plugged directly into a working USB port on the Mac, not a hub or extension. The issue is that I have attached my old Microteck ScanMaker 9800XL to my new iMac with OS 10.15.5 Catalina, and it is not detected in System Preferences/Printers and Scanners.
